Selection of cold water tower

1. Select according to the temperature of the cooled water: high temperature tower, medium temperature tower, and normal temperature tower.
2. According to the current situation of the installation location and the requirements for noise, select: cross flow tower and countercurrent tower.
3. The cooling water volume shall be selected according to the cooling water volume of the water chiller. In principle, the water volume of the water chiller shall be slightly larger than the cooling water volume of the water chiller.
4. When selecting multiple water towers, try to choose the same model.
Secondly, attention should be paid to the selection of cold water tower:
1. The structural materials of the tower body should be stable, durable, corrosion resistant, and accurately assembled.
2. Uniform water distribution, less wall flow, reasonable selection of splashing devices, and less clogging.
3. The type of watering filler meets the requirements for water quality and temperature.
4. The fan matching can ensure long-term normal operation without vibration and abnormal noise, and the blades have good water erosion resistance and sufficient strength. The installation angle of the fan blade can be adjusted, but the angle should be consistent and the current of the motor should not exceed the rated current of the motor.
5. Low power consumption, low cost, small and medium-sized steel skeleton glass cooling towers also require light weight.
6. The cold water tower should be avoided to be arranged near heat sources, waste gas and flue gas generation points, chemical stacking areas, and coal piles.
7. The distance between cold water towers or between towers and other buildings should not only consider the ventilation requirements of towers and the interaction between towers and buildings, but also consider the safety distance for fire prevention and explosion prevention of buildings, as well as the construction and maintenance requirements of cold water towers.
8. The direction of the water inlet pipe of the cold water tower can be rotated by 90 °, 180 °, and 270 °.
9. The material of the cold water tower can withstand a low temperature of - 50 ℃, but when ordering in areas where the average temperature of the coldest month is lower than - 10 ℃, it should be stated in order to take anti icing measures. The cost of the cold water tower will increase by about 3%.
10. The turbidity of circulating water should not be greater than 50mg/l, and should not be greater than 100mg/l in the short term. It should not contain oil and mechanical impurities. If necessary, measures should be taken to eliminate algae and stabilize water quality.
11. The water distribution system is designed according to the nominal water volume. If the actual water volume differs from the nominal water volume by more than ± 15%, it should be stated when ordering in order to modify the design.
12. During storage and transportation of cold water tower components, no heavy objects shall be placed on them, no sunlight shall be allowed, and attention shall be paid to fire prevention. During the installation, transportation, and maintenance of the cold water tower, open flames such as electricity and gas welding shall not be used, and firecrackers and fireworks shall not be set off nearby.
13. Round tower multi tower design, the clear distance between towers should be maintained not less than 0.5 times the diameter of the tower body. Cross flow tower and counter flow square tower can be arranged in parallel.
14. The selected water pump should be matched with the cold water tower to ensure process requirements such as flow and lift.
15. When selecting multiple cold water towers, try to choose the same model as much as possible.
In addition, three indicators are commonly used to measure the effectiveness of cold water towers:
(1) The difference between the inlet water temperature t1 and the outlet water temperature t2 of the cooling tower Δ t, Δ T is called the cooling water temperature difference. Generally speaking, the larger the temperature difference, the better the cooling effect. For production, Δ The larger the t, the smaller the flow of cooling water required by the production equipment. However, if the inlet water temperature t1 is very high, even if the temperature difference is Δ "T is very large, and the water temperature after cooling may not necessarily decrease to meet the requirements. Therefore, although such an indicator is necessary, the problem described is not comprehensive enough.".
(2) Water temperature t2 and air wet bulb temperature after cooling ξ Proximity Δ t’, Δ t’=t2- ξ (℃), Δ T 'is referred to as high cooling amplitude. Δ The smaller the t 'value, the better the cooling effect. in fact Δ T 'cannot be equal to zero.
(3) Consider the sprinkling density in the calculation of the cold water tower. Water pouring density refers to 1m ² The amount of water that can be cooled per hour on the effective area.
