Dongguan University of Technology is abbreviated as Dongguan University of Technology. It is the first regular undergraduate college in Dongguan, built jointly by the province and city, mainly by the city. Dongguan is located at the beginning of modern Chinese history and the forefront of reform and opening up.
The college was founded in 1932, formerly known as Dongguan Normal School. In 1992, it was upgraded to an institution of higher learning, renamed Dongguan Institute of Technology, and enrolled undergraduate students in 2002. Dr. Yang Zhenning, Nobel laureate in physics, serves as honorary president. Currently, Dongguan Institute of Technology is actively striving for a master's degree, thereby preparing for upgrading to Dongguan University.
